How do you pull that retaining pin out? Just pliers? This is my first one. I ordered service manual but it hasn't got here yet

Blake, I have yet to take one of these apart. Read about it in the book but reading and doing are sometimes 2 different things. I suggest you ask this question in the Hydraulics forum and post the picture of the cylinder you posted earlier. If memory serves, manual saysing something like grap hold of wire clip and while pulling rotate the cylinder head until wire is removed, then cylinder head should pull straight out.

Sent PM to you also.

Will you put your video here, or on YouTube?
Is the chrome nice on your cylinder rod? Per the pic., it was not so clear...
I just did a repacking on a similar cylinder. I used vise grips to get the wire out, and reused it no problem. Just went slow pushing in.

sorry for late response having trouble replying from phone. my kid deleted my video from phone but my cylinder rod was that color all the way and both rods. only part that was shiny was the threads on end. I ended up using vise grips as well. my was rusted and not sure i could re-use so put grease around new one and it went in just fine.
