Is this an issue at all? Does frequently hitting the relief pressure and causing the relief valve to open lead to any future issues such as a drop in set pressure due to mechanical fatigue?
For clarity, this is not an issue I am experiencing at the moment. Just want to make sure I'm not setting myself up for issues down the road. I have a 2019 MF 1742 and have been cleaning up some of my parent's property lately. An area of the property had been taken over by about 20 locust trees that I cut down and haul to the burn pile using the grapple. Now that the trees are gone we are left with the stumps. Yesterday afternoon I decided to remove a few of them so I began to dig them out using the grapple. I would let the grapple dig in a little bit on each side of the stump to try and rip up the roots and eventually work my way underneath the stump so that I could roll it out. Keep in mind these aren't large stumps, mostly 3"-4" in diameter, but they are still plenty big that their root system overcomes the rollback force of my loader which would cause the relief valve to take over repeatedly until they were loosened up enough to remove.
I work slowly and am careful not to ram anything, jar anything, or put awkward forces onto the tractor or loader itself. I'm doing this as gently as possible because I know a FEL isn't necessarily designed for digging. I was just wondering if consistently popping the relief valve may lead to any future problems?
