7108 ford front end loader removal-looks straight forward, just wondering if theres a porven easy way to remove. Looks like there is a bolt on both sides of the bottom bracket, remove then flaps lay flat,do I leave bucket flat or what is best position ? Does it require weight in the bucket ?

the only thing i do is shut the engine off and release my valve pressure by rotating the joy stick in all directions a couple of times. if you don't do this putting the quick disconnects back on are a real pup. if you leave the loader in the sun, it may build up pressure and make the quick disconnects tough also. other that that put it where you want it release the pins and roll the bucket, should lift right off and opposite when putting back on. hoses come off last. piece of cake after the first time.

I took my 7108 loader off for the first time this weekend and it went pretty easy. I have a manual which is pretty good, if you don't it's pretty straight forward...

pull any pins and bolt and let the flap drop down that holds the loader to the rear supports.

Take off any straps securing your loader lines.

Leave tractor in neutral and start to extend the loader. You'll see it pull away from the rear supports and then start to back up slowly while continuing to extend the main ram of the loader. The front hooks will disengage and at the same time a sort of stand comes down from it's position just below the grill.

Key is the manual says to fully extend the loader, and by doing that the stand comes all the way down and pulls the loader off the front tractor mounts. Let the loader push the tractor back as much as you can since you don't want to pull away from the loader before the support is down.

Overall pretty slick system and pleased with how easy it comes off.

Ya know it's late!! at least here in Texas; and I just caught the fact you're asking about a 7108 and mine is a 7308. Maybe my comments will help anyway! Good luck...

I have a question on uninstalling the 7108 loader. I just bought a 1715 tractor w/7108 loader at an auction and don't have a loader manual. Can you tell me what position the bucket should be in before detaching? Thanks for your help/time.

I set mine to as flat on the ground as I can. I left the front lip a little lower once and it settled putting pressure on the quick-connect.

Thanks for your reply. By flat on the ground do you mean the bottom is flat on the ground or is it tilted over with the open (top) part flat on the ground? Is it true that it will support itself when detached? Thanks again for your time.

Place the bottom of the bucket flat on the ground. The "kickstand" should be part of the loader.

And don't do this on a smooth garage floor. I chased my bucket for half an hour the first time I removed it. Now I park it on the gravel.

I know this is an old post but thought the info should be available to others here
