I posted this in the New Holland operating section too.

I've got an 07 TL100A that is slow in raising the loader, but all other functions work fine. It's up at my in-laws and I had my brother in law swap two of the hoses and the problem isn't in the pump or cylinders as the slow action followed the hose. I talked to the dealers service guy and he said there are cables running to the acuating valves that can be adjusted.

As the tractor is 100 miles away I'm planning to go up this weekend and figure out what's wrong. Just curious if anyone is familiar with adjusting the hydraulics like the dealer described?? Or has had a similar problem??

Thanks - Dan

Not sure about the adjustment on the the loader control valve, but it also sounds like it could be a quick connect fitting problem. Maybe one QC fitting on the hose in question is not open properly? Thisis ususlly the first place to look when having odd hydraulic problems.

I tend to agree with what crash said, so I'd look there first.
I think your dealer might be referring to the cables from your joystick that run to the valve itself. Sometimes the ball movements or screws get loose and the joystick is not moving the valve (actuators on it) open enough. It would be like "feathering" the valve to purposely make it go slow.
The other thing is what size hoses did your BIL install? Are they the same diameter or smaller than original?

Dan, If I understood correctly, you had your BIL swap the curl and lift hoses? The result is that the curl now is slow and the lift fine? If that is the case then the suspect must be in the line and not in anything else. Either the QD is not opening fully, or there is a restriction in the line itself. Maybe the inside of the hose has developed a flap that makes a one-way valve of sorts.

Has the hydraulics slowed over time or all the sudden? Maintenance I assume has been kept up i.e filter, fluid change, ect.?

Thanks for the replies - I bought the tractor new last June and to be honest it has under a hundred hours on it. As the tractor is a hundred miles north at my in laws where I own land, I can't go out and look at it. As all other hydraulics work fine, it's an isolated problem.

Someone posted a picture of the loaders joy stick with cables in the NH operating section, and it shows an adjustment that I think is the problem.

I'll post back when I figure it out.

It was an easy fix. The Joy stick has two cables as the diagram which is posted on the NH operating thread shows. The cable housing ends going into a compression fitting (#8 on the diagram) which is attached to the valve. I just loosened up the compression fitting (one allen nut) and centered the action, and then retightened the fitting. Loader works perfectly. The cable housing which ends in a steel cylinder which fits into the housing had slipped a bit.

It's basically the same as adjusting the brake cable on a bike. Except on a bike, the cable has a threaded metal end that screws in or out, and the lines on the tractor are adjusted in the compression fitting.

Hope this helps someone, as it is very simple, but also potentially prone to slipping and getting the controls out of center.

Thanks for your replies - Dan
