I started noticing problems with the loader on my 3010 not long after getting it. The problem was quite simple: with increasing frequency it would not raise or lower, except VERY SLOWLY. Dump and roll worked fine. In fact, raising and lowering worked much better is I dumped and rolled on the way up or down.

Since I noticed the problem soon after observing that the joystick was loose (having obviously being installed with minimal care by the dealer, I assumed that the stick had been adjusted incorrectly or somehow knocked out of whack by the movement before I noticed it was loose.

So, I fiddled with it every now and then. Finally on the weekend I resolved I would disassemble the control once I finished my current project, namely backfilling my new barn.

Late yesterday ('twas a holiday in the snowy north) I noticed that when the position control was 'all down' the FEL worked perfectly. If the lever was about 1/3 of the way up, the FEL stopped working.

I am a big guy in all 3 dimensions, so, when driving, loading, etc., the position control jabs the side of my knee, so after a few jabs, unless I was tilling or boxblading, etc., I move the position control to 'all up'. Somehow, this buggers the hydraulics, causes the FEL problem.

Anybody else notice this? Any suggestions as to which this is happening?

I am very happy I've solved my FEL problem. Saturday, a hacksaw will shorten the position control lever, and I can solve my knee problem.

Funny it took so long to figure out though. Glad I never tried to disassemble the control ....

It sounds like your position control may be out of adjustment. What appears to be happening is the hydraulic relief valve is kicking in which would cause a loss of power to the FEL. Check that out.

Interesting. So, when its up, it, essentially, too high (or wants to go higher), and when its down its not down enough.

Any advice on how I can check this and/or adjust it? I don't recall having seen it in the manual, but I'll have to check.

I noticed this when my backhoe is attached, though I haven't tried it without. Could this be an issue?

Thanks for the tip.

boustany.

if you have a 4690or 4672 backhoe attached then you can not lift 3pt because they have a rigid top link that can not move up or down. If you try to lift it the relief vavle will kick on make the hyd usless.

If this same problem happens when there is another type of implement on 3pt then the feed back rod needs to be adjusted. Feedback rod is attached to left lift arm (3010 models) it is a long rod that is hooked to brackets with ajusting nuts.

Thanks. That explains it.
Funny, though that rolling the bucket back and forth makes the FEL hydraluics work.
Anyhow, my solution to the 'pain in the knee' problem should allow me ot work comfortably with the 3PH down.
