Is there any way to adjust the speed that the loader lowers.
The loader on my 224 works good with the exception of the lowering rate. It drops to quickly and I am concerned that something will break when the joystick is returned to neutral and the loader comes to a dead stop.

I have flushed the entire hydraulic system with diesel and replaced it with AW32. The 3pt and steering work great but the drop speed of the loader concerns me and would like to adjust this if possible. Is it possible that the fluid is to lite.

Has anyone experienced this problem. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Don't push the joystick as far?:)

What loader and valve do you have? Most joysticks have a rubber boot covering the linkages that actuate the valves. Have you removed this boot to examine the mechanism? You may be able to limit the linkage travel and control how much the lever moves the spool valve when lowering.

You could put restrictors in the working ports of the lifting circuit, but that would limit the lifting speed also.

I have the factory jinma loader that has a single joystick. Interesting you mentioned the rubber boot, as my loader never came with one.

I looked at the joystick valve but am not sure what to adjust. There is the linkages attached to each spool on the valve body but I think this may only adjust travel and not speed, but I have probably overlooked something.

Remember. .. if the spool uses linkage/valve travel to open orifices.. then if you limit the travel to limit max orifice opening.. then you have limited speed. I've never seen that perticular valve and am unsue if you can limit 'exhaust' without limiting 'extend'

The problem is I replied before thinking.
I will need to look at the assembly closer to see if the stick movement can be reduced then the valve piston will also move less resulting in slower loader drop. Seems like it should work as long as the linkage will allow this adjustment. I was hoping there was an easy way to reduce total flow through the spool controlling the drop.
I will check it out and let you know.

I have to mention something that's out of my instruction manual, but I don't agree with it. Under the front of the seat there's a knob that controls the drop speed of the 3 point hitch. My manual says that it also controls the drop of the FEL. It sure doesn't on mine, but I don't have a Jinma loader either. After some experience you'll get used to how far to push the valve control lever. Sometimes speed is everything and getting that empty bucket on the ground is important, but fully loaded you have to just "tickle" it down.

Post a reply if the needle valve for the 3 point also controls your FEL. Just curious.

Thats gotta be an error in the manual. The speed regulating valve you are refering to is bolted right onto the front of the 3PH lift cylinder. That is the only thing it is in series with and the only cylinder it could possibly control.

There is a linkage from the joystick to each spool plunger, but there is no adjustment to limit its travel.
I will take a picture of the assembly and post it for suggestions.
