I have CK30HST with the KL130 loader, 140 hours without any trouble till now. I was spreading some mulch in the float position when I went to take it out of float and raise the loader when the stick went loose. Pulled the boot off the base of the stick and noticed that the linkage had pulled off the 'gimble ball' on the valve. Pressed the linkage back on but still didn't budge without popping back off. I can see where the valve needs to pop back up but the system appears to so pressurized (?) that it will not allow it. Things I have tried:

- Using a rubber mat to protect the gimble ball from scratching up and channel locks to try to pop the valve back out.
- Relieving the pressure from lift cylinders at the quick disconnects.

My next step is to pull the control valve out and disassemble, unless someone has some easier and quicker suggestions. Any help is appreciated.

Once the plastic comes off the metal ball, It's done.

You will need to replace the part.

Not fun, but possible.

After reviewing a few threads in the archives, I've resigned myself to pulling the valve out. Thanks for the confirmatin on the bad news Bearhawk.

Since I will be doing this away from the workshop what other tools will be needed besides metric wrenchs? Any other tricks to smooth this process?

Here's something I saved from this forum last year:

"Well I figured it out and it turned out not to be too difficult. I had to unhook the cables from the hydraulic assembly which then allowed the levers to be pulled up through the housing they sit in high enough to place the pivot lever in. Then I slid the yoke assembly with all three levers back into the housing. The cables to the two functional pin levers need to remain attatched to the pin levers. Overall, not that bad but nonetheless, don't want to have to do it again. Think I'll exit to the left from now on...those plastic balls aren't the only ones that could be damaged if you know what I mean...thanks for the help guys!

Took another look at it and I can't get past the 'unhook the cables from the hydraulic assembly' step with the loader stuck in float. I assume this done on the hydraulic valve side not the lever under the fender side.

Is this done by backing the nut off then unscrewing the cable shield?

I was able to remove the plastic and metal bracket mounted to the fender. Then work the assembly down through the space between the fender and the floorboard. That gives just enough room to access the bottom of the assembly.

Have fun

FYI: I found a much easier method to solve this problem. All you have to do is take off the cover for the cable linkage to the valve body. Take the collar off with the two allen bolts then back the cover off the cable housing by unscrewing it (and keeper bolt). Its marked with red arrow in picture. This reveals the connection from the cable and allows for adjustment or even removal. Lots easier than going from behind/under fender.

I put the plastic ball back on it appears to be working for now - we'll see how long it lasts.
