I bought the Nova Jack Log skidding cone a few months ago. I was finally able to use it this week to get a few walnuts logs I got from a local tree service.
I used my more power puller (hand powered winch) to hoist them up on my equipment trailer. I would usually take my bobcat to the site for loading but I was only able to get about 1500 board foot of walnut and I saved some money/fuel by using the winch and it gave me a chance to try out this skidding cone. It worked out ok and I will use it again in the future. I made a short video showing the cone in action. I made this video because I couldn't find any good reviews of this cone in action when I was purchasing one, maybe this will help others if they decide to buy one in the future.

Nice cone, I've been thinking about buying one too.....BUT, there's NO WAY IN HE!! I'd work that hard to save a few dollars in fuel cost... lol

Seems like a couple of sheets of plywood or sheet metal would do the same if you're going to pull by hand.

Me neither. I'd have certainly moved my tractor for that job or pulled them on the rollback using its hydraulic winch.

It's good to know you can get by with minimal equipment.

I moved 10' logs, 20" DBH across my parking lot and up onto my sawmill with just two peavey's just to find out how hard it would be. M4700 makes it a lot easier.
