My local NH/Massey dealer had an open house several weeks back. 3-4 New Hollands and 35 or so Masseys on display.

Dealer said they cannot get New Hollands. They are all on backorder. Another NH dealer 25 miles in the opposite directions only as 5-6 new tractors and normally has 20 or so this time of the year

What is the deal?? Slow economy or did NH not expect the demand and they are short?

Went to 2 new holland dealers in New England 1 had no new tractors at all other had 35 or so kabotas and only 3 new hollands. Dealer said tsuinami is causing problems. Where are newvhollands made and arn't kabotas made in Japan?Is new holland going out of bissnes?

NH product availability has sucked for 2-3 years and is getting worse monthly.
Using the tsunami as an excuse is pathetic, as no current NH products come from Japan.

Maybe all NH products are going to Japan? Like a few years back you could not buy a concrete block or bag of cement because all cement products were going to China.

Both dealers and manufacturers got burned on excess inventory when the economy turned down and stayed down. Nobody wants to pay full price for a "new" tractor that sat on the lot for two years.

My local NH dealer seems to be focusing more on used equipment sales than keeping new tractors on the lot. Can't speak for other NH dealers.

It seems that Deere might have a better dealer model in place for handling this. Around here they've been consolidating dealerships under single regional ownership. Dealers don't compete with each other on price and they spread their inventory around and can transfer inventory between sites as needed.

Actually the T1500 series is still in japan and we are waiting on 10 T1530 that got delayed because of the sunami and all over there. It really depends on how the dealer ordered last fall and spring. we order stuff when we get down to one or two models and will keep our inventory up to date that way. we have 20+ tractors and as many pieces of hay equipment on the yard right now. yes NH has been slow on producing but so was Deere especially on bigger HP models. The economy didnt help this. But like i mentioned as far as a dealer not havign much on his yard, he should order when it is needed and not wait and then be stuck with low inventory.

A local guy sells nothing but used equipment and the last 3 years is the best he has ever done. Down economy people by used I guess.

New Holland is owned by Fiat. I think New Holland Financial financed most of that 'dealer stock' setting in front of the dealerships. Fiat needed moola to put into Chrysler, so they pulled all they could from their various holdings. That is my take on why you see very few blue tractors sitting around. My local NH dealer also sells Kabotas, and, whilst he only has two blue tractors sitting out front...he must have 40 orange ones.
