New Holland is owned by Fiat. I think New Holland Financial financed most of that 'dealer stock' setting in front of the dealerships.

Thats not it at all. CNH is part of FIAT's industrial division, its a different entity than the car business. The biggest supply problem in the US is driven by the booming demand for equipment in other countries, and an exchange rate thats encouraging exports. They are building plently of machines, they are just all being sent overseas.

That does not explain why there are rows of green tractors, orange tractors, and red tractors at the dealerships....unless the overseas markets do not want them... At least here in Michigan. But I bow to your expertise...... I was just guessing....

We're talking farm equipment here, not compacts. Its not a problem on the Kubota side. It is a big problem with Case (we are also a case dealer) and I know the Deere guys are having lots of trouble as well. Its not uncommon to need to place retail orders 5-6 months in advance to ensure delivery of things like big tractors, heavy tillage and planters. At least on the CNH side, they typically honor the stock orders that we place months in advance, but if you need somthing special to fill orders that go over your own projections its nearly impossible to do quickly.
