Dealer Local JD Dealership closing shop.

Heard on the radio yesterday that our local JD dealership is closing it's doors after 25 years. It's a large AG dealership. No reason was given, and you see a lot of BIG green machines out in the cotton and peanut fields around here.

It's a family run shop which also owns a 50 year old Massey/New Holland dealership along with a large repair shop, this one is staying open.

I think the closest JD shop is now about 35-40 miles away.

That was a very large dealership. I have bought attachments from them and always enjoyed going there. If I remember correctly the father owned the Massey/New Holland dealership. I wonder what the son and his BIL who were the partnership in the JD as I understood are going to do. That's not good news for folks around there.

Very sad, that's where we are building our spec house.

They where very nice to me, when I got my third function they showed me where to hook my valve lines to.

Even though I own a Kubota I have also bought a few implements from them....but they were from the JD's Massey/New Holland side....not sure whats going to happen........ as I understand it, JD and his SIL Buddy Lord ran the JD dealership..... but I could be wrong.

They weren't looking to expand and weren't looking to sell...JD is very serious about this consolidation effort...
