Just had 200 gallons of diesel stolen out of our tank and was wondering how you lock one of these pumps (Fillrite 700). Can you only do it at the power source (breaker/switch)? I figure they had a pretty large pickup tank to get away with that much.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Shouldn't be to hard to fabricate up a locking hasp to go over the fuel nozzle/handle. How did they get it out, with the pump? Problem is even if you disable the pump they can just pull off the fill cap or remove the pump and use their own pump to pump it out. Shoot, all they need is a jiggle hose to siphon it out. You almost need to secure the whole tank/pump.

 As far as I can tell they just used the pump on the tank. We had a lock on the fill point at the back of the tank.

Maybe it is just the DC ones but my fill Rite (at least I think it is) has a little lever with a hole in it that sits just to the left of the nozzle when it is in the holster thing.

Padlock goes through that, through the handle of the hand unit and you cannot remove the hand unit from the holster.

I can't imagine why they would not have that on all of them. Let me know if you need a picture.
