Does anyone know where (if there is one that is) I can find a locking fuel cap for the 1920? I have to leave it parked in town for the remainder of the winter and right now it is out for all to see. I would like to lock the fuel tank for all the various reasons for as long as it is in town. Any ideas? My dealer did not notice one and she thinks the idustrial caps are all going to be too big for the 1920 so I have to find an aftermarket cap. Thanks.

How big is the hole? A locking fuel cap off of a road truck/tractor might work.

You could also try one of these. It might work for your application.

Fuel theft, locking cap, fuel tank. Gainesboro, Tennessee.

Have you tried your local auto parts store. The fuel cap on my 1900 looks the cap used on some older pickups(70's).

Not yet, I will try to get over to the parts store tomorrow.

The cap on the 1920 is recessed below the hood with a small flip up cover over top of it. So the big external lock doesn't look like it would work too well in this situation but thanks for the link as it might come in handy in the future.

Might look a little redneckish but if you just need to lock the flip cover couldn't you just install a lock hasp and padlock?

That would look real bad, plus all anyone would have to do then is lift the hood up and you have instant access to the fuel cap again.

Normally the tractor is parked safely in the barn. But while it is in town for snow plowing duty it is left outside as it is too tall for our garages at the apartments. Once the majority of the snow stops it will come home but right now it sits unprotected from vandals and theives.

Take your fuel cap to the store with you and match up to a cheapy auto ( if you can ).. and get the locking cap for that type.

Make sure you leave a rag/bag over the cap on the tractor, under the flap.

I went to Napa today and asked about it. At first she seemed skeptical but when she opened the book to Ford tractors the 1920 was right there. The part number was 703-1113 and cost me $12.63. It will be here in the morning so I will know tomorrow if it is the right one.

Chiming in here a little late, but I'd bet the locking cap from a Ford 555, 655 or 'A' or 'B' series TLB would fit if the NAPA cap doesn't. You may have to open the whole hood to use whatever you buy.
