Mowing Locking mower deck on 2320

Am I supposed to be able to lock the 62D mower deck and keep it from lowering by turning the height adjuster to the lock position and if I can should it lock at eh fully raised position or do you have to raise and lower it until you find where it will lock?

Assuming you dont have the independent lift (runs off the FEL connection), you raise the 3 pt/mower up as far as it goes and then turn the height control knob clockwise as far as it will go. You will hear a clunk sound.. When you go to lower the 3pt the mmm will still drop an inch or so though..

I don't really hear a clunk it's more like two wrenches being tapped together. It will hold the deck up but you have to fiddle with it to get it to hold and even then it doesn't seem to be fully engaged.

hello my jd2320 dose the same i raise the deck up with the loader joystick i guess that is called the fel? then i turn to lock it still drops about an inch ,i dont like this system thou i somtimes like to mow high in some spots but it drops .i thought the FEL system was the independent lift? is there another system for raising the mmm so it dosent drop .

Sounds like the same problem described on another thread on the MMM on the 2305. I don't like this system the way it "works" on mine.
