JD 4320
Anyone know if the log splittter at TSC will work on a JD 4320? I have a backhoe 448 on it. They seem like a fair price. Not sure how the hydraulics work on those things. I know the pricipal not the mechanics.
Thanks

I don't know about the TSC splitter but would commend you to check-out the Northern Tool 3-point splitter for $499. I bought one this season and have been very satisfied with its performance...

Hi Dave, I was wondeing if you have any pic's of the Northern Tool 3pt splitter? I'm planning on purchasing a 3pt splitter in the future when funds become available and seen one on e-bay from a place that makes them for $600 + shipping. It looks like a good one. It has the detents for auto return on it which is why I liked it. Does yours have the auto return? Any additional info would be greatly appr. Thanks!
Larry
p.s. The one thing I noticed about the one from tsc is that it mounts side ways on the 3pt, that I don't care for very much. The one on e-bay mounts length wise. Which way does yours mount? Again Thank you!

TSC splitter here. All you need is the PowerBeyond kit which if you have the backhoe you're all set. The TSC splitter comes set up as an auto return but a replacement spool is included to switch it to full manual control. It was listed at $599 but i got the manager to knock $60 off because it had been outside for a while. You will need a couple of long hoses, I believe mine are 48" and allow the splitter to be run either vertical or horizontal

Thanks for the advice. I may put it to good use. Do you think a tow behind splitter is more pratical? I'm on the fence here and not sure which way to bend. The tow behind is about double the price and more vercitile.

My tow behind splitter has been great for the last 2 years.

The reason I say the last 2 years is because 2 years ago I took a cutting torch & popped both tires so that I don't have to go chase after it anymore.
It was always being borrowed & never returned.

Wow dubba, seems like an extreme measure in my opinion, sure hope no one borrows your boots /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif . I know exactly what you're saying though, I have the same problem with people borrowing things, makes ya mad, but I've learned which of my friends I can loan things to and the one's that I simply tell no to. The one's that I've had to say no to were really mad at me, but after giving them a few examples of why, they accepted it (probably still mad though). Funny though how when told the reason they all seem to think that I'd be willing to give them one more chance (as if the last 5 or so chances weren't enough). I hate to borrow things because being a mechanic it seems that when ever I borrow things I always end up having to repair them before I use them. Have a good weekend!
