Should have posted this here in the first place......

I sprang a leak the other day in my log splitter. It drips very little on the splitting stroke and a lot more on the return. The cylinder needs to be rebuilt. The problem I'm having is that the splittler is at least 20 years old and the cylinder doesn't have any markings on it.....manufacturer, size, nothing. I don't even know the original manunfacturer of the entire splitter itself. I've never rebuilt a cylinder myself, but am thinking about giving it a shot if I can find the parts. Can anyone recommend someone in the Ashland, NY (in the Catskills, near Hunter and Windham) area that would be able to identify the cylinder and get the parts for me?

Thanks

Take the cyl to any place that sells or services farm machinery/tractors and they can probably put a seal in it. If you can not get the cly off take the whole splitter.
