I have a JD 4066R. It connects to my 3 pt hitch wood splitter and I am currently running the splitter off one of the five sets of Selective Control Valves on the back of the tractor. It works fine but I'd like to improve the cycle time without going to a PTO operated hydraulic system on the splitter. The splitter is an American with the standard splitter valve.
If I connect the splitter to the Power Beyond on the back of the tractor would this improve the cycle time and if so do I need to do anything to the valve on the splitter to make it work (not sure of open vs. closed). I've read about the Prince rapid extend valve. Would this work on either my SCV or Power Beyond and help improve things? Any other ideas on how to improve cycle. I've got plenty of horsepower I guess but not enough flow. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!!!
