long 445 smoking

i have a utb long 445 i would say its a 74 model but not sure.
i started having fuel smoke real bad less at idle
if you bush hog up hill it is way under powerd
it idles good will even idle up like its suppoused too
but i hooked up a tiller to it in first gear idles up to 2300 rpm and it almost dies when you let out on the clutch to go.
what could it be??????????????????

Seems like at least one cylinder don't burn the fuel completly. Could be a broken head gasket or cylinder head. Faulting valves could do the same. A compression test could tell something...

had the head gasket replaced before the smoke started smoking after the gasket was replaced the head was checked as well as the rings and pistons but who knows might have cracked one on start up.

could be also a injector and or injecor pump timing.

G'day what color smoke are you seeing?? As this has happened since head gasket replacement i would be checking valve clearances for a start
