I found a Long Cut Master six foot brush hog for sale. I have never heard of a Long nor can I find any info out on the internet. I was wondering if anybody knew anything about them. Thanks so much for your input.

Thank you so much. I did dig that number up after making the post. Dead end!!!!! UGGGGG Anyway the brush hog is in good shape, I would just worry about getting blades, gearbox parts and that sort of thing for it. I think the company is out of business.

It depends on what the asking price is. Bush Hog style mowers have a rough life. The bearings are probably made off shore in your JD bush hog. Utility grade bearings are made ???.

He wants 500 and says no reasonable offer refused. It is a six and a half foot I believe. I was going to offer around $350.00 for it. Do you think blades would be hard to come by?

Lots of places sell blades for rotary cutters. Try Tractor supply or Agri-supply they carry several styles. Most all blades I have seen are the same bolt attachment size, just need length and width to match what you have. First of all, are you sure you need blades. Maybe you just need to sharpen what is on it. As for bearings, Timken makes bearings for lots of things and can likely match what you may need for whatever you are in need of if you have the inner and outer race so they can mike it for exact size or the inner race usually has a bearing number that can be matched up.
$350 would be a good counter offer to start negotiating with and the fact that they are no longer made, would be a good cost lowering advantage for you to pursue.
