I got a new rear blade and but before my old blade goes away I thought I'd share a skid shoe idea that others may be able to use. It's just a long piece of grader cutting edge with some short pieces welded in step fashion to get the height position correct. It can swivel on the single bolt that holds it on so no matter what the blade angle is the "skid plate" stays in line with the direction of travel. The large surface area and length allowed me to use it as a hay float and in the pastures to spread the gopher and badger hills out without ever digging into the sod.

You can also see I added extra weight in the form of corner bits from D7 or D8 Cats. That eventually led to the blade bending so I also had to add that angle iron on the back.
