What is really cool is to watch them do their thing. They fly from Whiteman AFB to the practice range here at Ft Leonard Wood. When they shoot, if you don't know what you are hearing, it sounds like a giant burping in the distance. And if you happen to be near the airfield when they are practicing touch and go, you're whole car will shake when they stand them on their tail and hit the afterburner.
But the coolest thing I ever saw in the air was last year. Clear skies, middle of the day and my wife told me she was seeing something very strange flying over very high. When I first looked, it looked like the Starship Enterprise with a smaller ship following close by. When I looked with my binoculars I saw that it was a B2 Stealth being refueled with another B2 following and waiting for his turn.
