1739E MF 2019
Looking to get an Auger for my new MF. Currently have a backhoe on it. My PTO is pushing about 32 HP . Any suggestions on what I should get ??. 4x4s and 4x6 is what I'll mostly be installing.

Still not purchased one yet. Titan seems to be out of stock. Any body used one from Tractor Supply?

I have a 6, 9, and 12" diameter. Since "area" supports whatever is above the post, if building a building, the 12". Fence, just have room for the post and no concrete....in clay. Nothing special about an auger other than keep your rpms slow and keep your hand on your lift, eyeballs on the screw, lift like a saw....up and down, up and down...little bites. When at the bottom of the hole, stop the PTO, lift the auger till the tip clears the ground aand hit the PTO for a second to sling off the fines....reduces what you have to clean out.

I found that my Ford 3000 is my best hole digging tractor with it's Live PTO....just made for fence work. Since I auger slow, HP isn't the big deal and you should be good even in heavy clay like I have. I have augered with my 2000 but it doesn't have the Live PTO and that is what I prefer. If you auger in....auger all the way down and won't come out, get a stilson (pipe) wrench and a long cheater and with slight up pressure on the 3 pt and PTO in N, manually unscrew it......next time take smaller bites and keep your eye on the auger...if it starts moving down fast, as soon as you see it start that, immediately pull up and take smaller bites keeping your eye on the speed of detent.

Tractor supply has one that is rated from 20 hp to 100 hp. It's a good price . But seems awful big, heavy too. My tractor is the MF 1739 It's pushing about 32 on the PTO. I think that makes it a Cat 1.. Tractor Supplies must be Cat 1-2 and 3 combined.

Looking at 2 they have listed on the www, the $600 regular one one handles a 4' auger, the cheaper "Pro" doesn't say; the regular can only lift 500# when used as a boom pole and the Pro 1000#. The regular has a stand, the pro doesn't and that DOES matter when hooking it up alone. Both are Cat1-2 rated. They both look like regular hole diggers to me. Weight is about what you'd expect.

Either one would suit me and the regular says 18-100 hp, the other "any" tractor. I have an old 6" auger that had a damaged tip. I augered it into the ground with the flange about 18" off the ground. When I am finished with my digger, I take the auger off and back the tractor up to that auger and set the verticle output shaft of the digger in that fixed "stand". Makes hooking up very easy as compared to wrestling that thing alone.
