Looking at a 2001 Kioti --- Was it a problem year?

Hey, guys ----- I'm looking at a 2001 Kioti for small farm use. I've got an old John Deere that's too large to fit in the barn and I'd like a smaller model for that kind of close-quarters stuff. It's a 2001 model and I've been seeing mixed reviews as to when they became more quality-oriented. Does anyone know for sure if 2001 was a good year for Kiotis? This is an LK3054, all steel model. But that wouldn't matter if some parts that contact the fuel areas are plastic and would eventually crack from exposure to the diesel!!! It comes w/a disc plow, a brush hog and a box blade and he's thinking somewhere around $12,000 for the pkg. It doesn't have a front end loader so I'd have to get that added.

Those were early years for Kioti, so beware of that.
As far as the price, $12000 for a ten year old Kioti with no loader is mighty salty...by at least 4000 bucks, even with the implements.
I suggest you look elsewhere...

I have a 2001 Kioti DK 35. 1425 hours. No problems at all.
It has been an excellant tractor. Very reliable.

The price is way to high for that 3054 with no front end loader.
Keep looking.

Well, I went and test drove it. Everything looks great, it's been stored inside so nothing is worn. Condition on the engine parts also looks excellent. He doesn't have a maintenance log but says he's changed the oil regularly but he's the second owner. It's got 120 hours on it. One shaft on the left side seems to have a slight bend in it. He said that's how it's supposed to be?? Anybody know for sure? It's not a very thick bar so I'm not quite sure what to think especially if he bought it in that condition. The other pieces of equipment are good to so-so, the so-so applies to the WELL-USED brush hog which is the piece of equipment I really need. I also really need a loader. You really think $4,000 or so is what you'd offer when he's asking $12,000 for the package?

I believe that by

he is saying that $8000 would be a much better price than $12000.

Do you have a dealer nearby who can get parts? Parts availability might be a dealbreaker for me.

Ah, that makes sense! It's hard being the dork in the thread... even if you started it! I'll check around to see if there is anyone who works on Kiotis in the area. I'm almost ashamed to ask the bf of one of my riding students what he thinks of a Kioti. He's a Deere guy ---- they've got about 20 Deeres of all makes and models.

That tractor has a pretty good reputation. But, without a loader, I think even $8000 is a bit high. I'd say closer to $7000 would be the upper limit, if it were me. Not having a loader handicaps his ability to command a high price.

Yep 12k is too much for that tractor with no FEL. 12k seems kinda steep for that machine even if it had a FEL unless it's in mint cond.

12K--- tooooo much for that tractor and tools. If all is good about the tractor and equipment I would offer $6000-$7000 range. Ken Sweet

if you want a loader, make sure you verify that they are even available.
