Mahindra 3015
I am new to TBN and the tractor world. I have been shopping for the better part of three weeks and had my mind set on a Massey or NH.

When I went to the Massey Dealership, I saw the Mahindra first. I liked the look, but did not recognize the name. Salesman was good, service dept. was reputable, etc.

As I got to researching the brand, I became more intrigued but as you all know, the brochures are not going to have any bad things to say.

I am loking for some honest feedback on the 3015, and the brand. Just briefly scanning the forum, I have noticed some concerns in the larger models that scare me a little.

Any feedback that you could give me, is greatly appreciated.

Mahindra has three main series of tractors . The 00 which is made by Mahindra themselves, the 10 series like I have made by Tong Yang Moolson for Mahindra , and the 15 series which is made by Mitubishi for Mahindra.

The 15 series is the lightest of there series of tractor, but everything you will read here from the owners of that series is good..

The line seems to have been around a while and sold under the Cub Cadet name. So your looking at a tractor that has a good track record.

At the time I bought mine the 15 series had just come out under the Mahindra name and they didn't have a backhoe for it. That's why I went with the 2810HST.

Good luck

I have the Cub Cadet version of the 2615 (4 less HP) and it has served me well. My wife actually prefers the RED over CC yellow. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Kozmo - I know nothing about the 3015 model but I can speak about Mahindra's reputation. Who else is out there competing with a 3 year warranty in the tractor market ? They have been in making allied forces jeeps in WWII, tractors , and probably a lot of other machines that I don't even know about since the late 40's - early 50's. Best advice is to buy from an established dealer in the tractor and implement business who has more than one shelf in the backroom dedicated to Mahindra parts and filters. Any dealer in the world would love to sell you a tractor for $250.00 on a 3015 over his cost if he has nothing invested in parts, inventory and doesn't have to service your tractor after the sale. Don't bother becaue he won't be around long. From what I've heard and that is from various sources, Mahindra is the #1 selling tractor in the U.S. under 65 horse. This might not include the smaller "estate" tractor mowing 1 - 2 acres. Yes, as with Ford, Chevy, etc, - there are problems in the "field" The fellow with no problems probably doesn't have a reason to even check into this forum except curiosity. If you page thru the posts and all of the problems described and the proper channels were pursued by the buyer, Mahindra has bent over backwards to make that owner happy. Please don't judge the product by unscrupulous dealers. Mahindra is a well built machine and it's introduction into the U.S. relies on happy customers. I am one of the happy buyers and feel like I should get a sales commission after rereading this reply!!!!!!!!!

Kosmo, I did the same thing you are. My top picks were NH and Deere when I started. I priced a Kubota and was pleasantly surprized at the $$

But then I looked at Mahindra. More bang for the buck. I got a 35 hp machine for 500 more than the Kub (31 hp) 800 more than the NH (30hp) and about a grand more than a Deere (27 hp).

the company has been around pre WW2. IH partnered with them in the 60's. They are now the third largest tractor manufacturer in the world. The one I bought is made by TYM, TYM makes its own tractor, and some Kioti's also.

I also watched the dealer lot. the mahindras are moving. They are selling. I think that if they were a bad unit, then the word would be out by now.

I've had a 3015 for about 6 months now and I love it. Ive only got about 30 hours on it so far, so I cant speak to its long term durability, but so far its been great. My only complaint is that the speed-lock (cruise control) slips. I assume that something needs to be tightened or adjusted but I havent gotten around to checking on it yet.

If you have any specific questions Id be happy to try and answer them.

TYM does not make any Kioti's that I'm aware of (if I'm understanding your statement correctly).

TYM does use some engines purchased from Daedong (Kioti's parent company).

Hey, Kosmo!

You did me a favor by asking this question! I have been looking for some feedback on the Mahindra brand. We are looking at potentially taking on another line, and Mahindra is the one we've chosen. So far, I've only heard good things about them. Where are you located?

We are in the South, and currently handle Case/IH, McCormick [the NEW McCormick now being produced by the McCormick family...which is turning out to be an awesome tractor...my brother has two of them for over a year now...big ones, 4WD, one dual, etc.), Tafe, and Long.

A good friend of mine recently bought a used 475DI, 4 years old, 110 hours, and so far loves it! It was a deal he couldn't pass up, even though he usually buys everything from us.

Good luck on your purchase. If you're looking for a dealer in your area, I'm sure you know to go to mahindrausa.com to locate the dealers in your area.

Clyde,
I'm glad to hear Mahindra is a number seller in the US. I just hope they don't jack up prices like Kubota when they get really big. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
