B7100D
My wife and I just purchased 2.5 acres and are looking at a used model B7100. My big question is can I put a FEL on this model? I am not sure on specifics for the tractor but I think it has a manually trany. They are asking $4500 with a tiller. Does this sound like a good price?? Our primary activities will be, general landscaping, veg gardens, and possibly plowing a 100ft drive in the winter. One other thing to mention, our land is somewhat hilly..with flat sections in between. Pls any suggestions or comments are very much welcome. Thx in advance for everyone help..I am new to this forum /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Welcome .

You should be able to put a loader on it. You may have trouble getting a MMM that will fit on with the loader.

Can't coment on price as this will vary with condition.

This model does not have power steering.

If you need a loader you will probably be a lot better off finding a tractor with the loader already on it.

You will have a hard (if not impossible) time finding a used loader and a new one will cost you about $3,000.

I sold my 94 B7100HST (hydrostatic transmission) with loader and a 4' bush hog for $5,500 about 6 months ago. It had 1,050 hours on it and was in excellent condition.

The price will vary according to region, I am in East Texas.

The B7100 is a fine tractor and one of Kubota's most popular models ever built. There are 2 versions, the early model which has 4 lug nuts on the front wheels, and the later version which has 6 lug nuts on the front wheels. Neither version had power steering. If it had power steering I would still own it since it did everything I asked it to do but when you get a load in the loader it is not easy to steer.

See B7100 thread for somone who just bought a B7100 for $4,00 with loader.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge...but what do you mean by "MMM".

I am sure that you probably could find an aftermarket loader to put on the tractor, but as was previously mentioned, the cost should make you think twice. Used tractor, $4500+ $3500 or so for a FEL puts you at $8000 or so for a used tractor. You should be able to pick up a B7510 with a FEL for someplace in the mid 12K range, and there is 0% financing. For $4500 more you can start with a new machine. Is it worth it? That's your call!

I recently sold my tractor that had a FEL without power steering, it actually was pretty good to steer even with a load. I recently purchased a B7500 with power steering. Now that have recently owned both kinds, I would never buy another tractor without power steering. It is definitely the only way to go. If you definitely need a FEL you should especially get a tractor with power steering, this is something you may regret later.

I know this question might be hard to answer just looking at their web page but there is a place that is only 1hr from me call coldwater tractors...They claim that they can have a loader custom fitted for $1500 dollars??? Their web page is Coldwatertractors.com. Just looking at the pictures on the web page, they look homemade but sometimes that isn't a bad thing...Would you advise not even going this route and purchase something from a more reputable loader maker???

One hour - just a nice drive.

Check them out - make sure the loader has standard hydraulics.

Does the price include the control valve and all the hydraulic plumbing?

Consider all the costs and also think about the advantage of power steering and HST if you are doing loader work.

Personally; I'd look at a tractor with loader attached, HST and POWER STEERING.

Note: I surely like my B7100 but the steering factor means mucho work.
