Buying Advice Looking at a Ford 2120

I found a Ford 2120 with a FEL for sale. Tractor is low hour and in good shape but does not have HSS. How big of a deal is that? I probably won't be loading materials with it much but I can see myself using the FEL for grading leveling and perhaps moving snow sometimes. The tractor is priced around $10K and has less than 1000 hours on it and is a 1989 model. What do you think?

I love mine. As long as the clutch is good you should be happy with the power train, depending on your use. The shuttle is handy for repetitive back-forth tasks but unneeded on many others.
Can't comment on price; it's in the park of what it's worth. They're a tough, well built machine.

Thanks for the input, that helps concerning the transmission. Having the shifter on the dash is different for me. 1st thru 3rd with reverse on the console and the 4 ranges to the left of the seat. The rear tires are 14.9-26 R1's that are pretty weather checked but the owner has just added tubes. The front tires are LT265/75-16's all terrain pickup tires for whatever reason?? I'm going to make an offer on it and assume I'm replacing the front tires asap.

Another question......the tractor has 14.9-26 R1 tires on the rear and LT265-16 truck tires on the front. Assuming the rear tires are correct, what size tires should it have on the front?

the 2120 is a beast,you will like it, the earlier ones like the one you are considering have less emission on them as well, keep us posted,maybe some pics if it comes home w u !!
