Looking at a used Mahindra 5510

Found a 2014 Mahindra 5510 gear with a cab. Only 179 hours on it. Does anyone have any experience with a 5510 and if so what are your thoughts? I have a Mahindra 2810 year 2000 and I would like to get a more current year that will allow me to get parts and keep it running for the next 25 years. Hoping to live that much longer anyway.

I don't have any direct experience with the 5510. I understand that it is made by TYM for Mahindra. My only advise is proximity to a servicing dealer if you need parts or service.

How has the 2810 been to you?? The 5510 will be just as good and a cab as well? If price is right, you probably will only need filters and a good maintenance regiment to keep it going for years to come. :thumbsup:

Did you mean 5010, they do not make a 5510, they did make a 5520. The 5500 series tractors are made in India by Mahindra the 5010 was made in Korea by TYM just like your 2810

Sorry about that. Yes, a 5010 model. I love my 2 8 10. It only has 600 hours on it and don't care to get rid of "Matilda" (wife named her).

The 5010 is a very nice tractor with over a 3000 lb loader lift capacity. I believe this is the highest in its class. The 40-50 hp TYM built machines generally appear to have fewer issues than the smaller ones like you have.

If your worried about getting parts for a mahindra 25 yrs from now dont get it. After buying a used 3510 a few years ago which we thought might end up needing the block replaced and finding not one single block, or used engine in the US to purchase. Mahindras only option was a new engine that was 3 months out and was more than we could have bought a whole other running 3510 for. Not another mahindra for me ever.
