I also finally found the John Deere Tractor reference list at their website. It's helpful in figuring out model names and links them to horsepower, years built.

It also shows models in red that were considered meant for the Canadian market. The 2140 (german built) was one of those as is the 3030 you mentioned earlier that you have trouble getting parts for.
