Price Check Looking at new 5045D... price check

Fell in love with a 5045D yesterday. Dealer quoted $18,901.00 with 512 loader. Is this a good price? Do you think there is any negotiating room?

I've never bought a new tractor before... I've owned many, but the latest model I own is a 1966 MF150!

Welcome to TBN, Jim. Don't know exactly if that's a good price or not...

Rule of thumb is to use the "Build your own" price from the JD website (MSRP) and subtract anywhere from 15%-20% from that. But.. there's always a but - recognizing that there are differences in final sale prices given the region or area of the country where you live.

'Course, there haven't been very many of the new model 5000 series discussed (or purchased) by folk's here on TBN. So, you're breaking new ground here in more ways than one!

Thanks AKfish! We got to about 10%, so I didn't feel too bad about it. The 5045 seems to be a ton o'tractor for the money. We're pretty excited about getting it... we've been running our little hay farm for a dozen years on some old tractors. Started with an 8n, then a great 850 Ford and finally our '66 Massey 150 High Clearance Diesel. I'm not going to know how to act around a new tractor!
