I am looking for a tractor to work on my 15 acres with horses with. My brother just bought a kubota l3940 and i really like the hydraulic transmission. I am not brand loyal at all. I was wandering how the kioti's transmissions are set up. I really like the Kubota GST where you don't have to use the clutch at all and you have the features of a gear transmission. Does Kioti offer anything like that? How reliable are these Daedong engines? How long has Kioti been around? I've been on the kioti website and it just doesn't offer alot of information on the transmission setups.

yes kioti does offer several hydro models 20/25 & 30hp maybe more....
i've had the ck20hst for 4+ years and over 225 hours.... runs like a charm.... i have been more than pleased with my machine

The only 2 transmissions Kioti has available is a shuttle shift which you will have to use the clutch to shift from forward to reverse it is sycronized which means it will not grind.
The other one is the hydrostatic which is a 2 pedal set up and has no clutch

Kioti is celebrating their 20th year anniversary in America.

Bobcat has been pushing for a couple of years to get the Daedong engines
Now Daedong the parent company of Kioti will be suppling the new compact tractors to Bobcat which is a Kioti tractor in white paint.

A very big selling point to Kioti is the 4 year warranty.

If you compared your brothers tractor to the equal Kioti which is the DK40SE the Kioti will out spec the Kubota.

I would highely recommend that you get on your brothers tractor and drive it they do a walk around looking over all the tractor.
Then go and drive a Kioti and do a walk around and let us know what you think.

If you are not interested in that size tractor go look over the full line of Kioti and see what you think.

We have taken a few GST K*botas in on trade.
I'm not sure if it's the age or it's just the way they work, but the ones we had did not impress me.
The GST is good when going forward AFTER using the clutch to get moving then using it just to shift up without a clutch.
If you pull it into reverse there is considerable lag.
I always wanted Kioti to bring out a GST style trans, after using these I changed my mind.

I have a Kioti DK40se with HST to work about the same amount of land. I've got only 25hrs on it so far but am very impressed with how well made, how well designed and how fully featured it is. It costs considerably less than the Kubota 3940 or 3830 and has a much stronger loader. The Kubota's are great tractors but for me the Kioti was more than equal and simply a better value.

I got a 45 se hst, had it about two months and have only 31 hrs on it. I have 8 acres at my house and maintenance at inlaws property. I coulda went smaller, but I didn't. I am not knocking Cub Cadet, but this thing blows that tractor out of the water. FOr what it is worth.

Both of my tractors have been HST, I don't like the shuttle shift. To me, maybe I am lazy, I don't want one more thing to do when I am driving the tractor around and working with it. The HST stops on a dime without brakes, on a level surface, and forward and reverse is just a pedal apart. It took me some time to get used to the new pedal system, my old one had a rocker for forward and reverse, but it is smooth and quick.

Good luck in your decision.

I have a CK30HST w/375 hours and have yet to regret my decision to go with Kioti or their hydro. The set up is a three range selection with a sliding gear for low-mid- high range that couples up to the hydro. Fetchy/sticky at times but always able to get where I need to be
