I've been looking for a tractor with FEL for use around my small (10 acre) horse property.
Moving and turning over manure piles, pulling stumps, snow removal, brush cutting, etc.
This MF is on Craigslist as a '63 Massey Ferguson 35, but it doesn't look like the pictures that I have
found for this model on TractorbyNet.

TRACTOR/LOADER SALE OR BARTER

Also, I'm concerned about the noisy throw-out bearing. Sometimes a noisy throw-out bearing is just something that you live with.

I'm pretty handy with a wrench, and am a decent welder, but I have no experience with a repair like this on a tractor.
The asking price seems quite fair, and it's a good looking machine, IMO.

Opinions will be much appreciated. .....is the throw-out bearing issue a major concern?

Thanks!

Tom

Looks more like an MF-202.

If a throwout bearing is bad, you may as well renew the clutch friction disks, springs, resurface the flywheel replace the pilot bushing and replace the throwout bearing and before you start get the clutch alignment tool (which should be pretty cheap).

Massey Ferguson Clutch Alignment Tool (8301144, MF20, MF202, MF203, MF2135, MF220, MF30, MF302, MF31, MF3165, MF35, MF40, MF50, MF50A, 1080, 1085, 135, 150, 165, 175, 180, 2200, 35, 50, 65, 85, 88, Super 90, TE20, TEA20, TO20, TO30, TO35)

I usually use the AutoZone "Tool Loan Program" to do these sort of jobs. You just buy the tool use it and bring it back for a full refund. It's usually a fairly high quality tool as well and often I have just kept it for use when the next thing breaks. It's nice to have the option and you get a decent tool to do the job.
While you are in there make sure to check all the seals bearings and whatever so you can take care of any future issues right now rather than split it again. The usual safety rules apply . Make sure you have some nice heavy timber for blocking. 6x6" post leftovers and larger blocks are nice and stable on uneven ground.

I think he means he puts a deposit down and when he is done with the tool he takes it back and they give him his deposit back. Well..... I hope that is what he meant.

You're probably right, and I probably misunderstood what he was saying. I've deleted my post.
