If you use the same wheel motors, you will have to design the motor housing to extend out more to allow the reversed wheel [ deep dish in ] to mount, and then a spacer so the rims do not touch. QUOTE]

i'm thinking it shouldn't take too much. current wheels are offset, but not too deep. I remember Sedge or Carl (i think) mentioning stuff getting stuck in between...how much space is optimum between tires i wonder..

I also think your center of gravity is to high, and with you sitting up there, even more so. That is the way I see it, actual operation may may work better than expected. How do you feel on a 35 degree hill now?

Haven't been sideways on a 35 degree hill...or at least if i was i didn't stop to measure it...but my wag would be - I would not be too comfortable. Now if I had dualies on and a tilting seat, i'm confident my comfort level (perception) would improve.

while true that center of gravity is a tad higher, the bulk of mass and weight is lower. we're actually talking about only raising 200 lbs (depending on operator) in the center of the equation up about 12 inches (vs the 1845 0r 1850).... My weight will matter, but the bulk of the 3400 lbs of tractor will be primaryfactor...lowering clearance by using smaller wheels will help...the higher perch may make for better visability....i think it will work fine

Trust me, flipping the switch while in motion will bring you to an abrupt halt. I'm sure it isn't good for the hydraulics, but if it is my life or the tractor's, I know the switch is going to get flipped.

All the best,

Peter

So I am looking at your tractor... Like I said, WOW is it different. I see that you could put in some sort of tilt seat. Why does your tractor look like it has less headroom than the 1850? One thing the 1800 series has is bent out roll bars. These are really nice as they increase the viewing area when you are on angle. Also, it seems that you can't see the bucket, or maybe because you are higher it is less of an issue (It is odd to see the front end of that PT with no driver seat or controls).

My spacer is something like 1.5 or 2" The rims are dished to zero on either side (No Inset) and they have a little lip that keeps the spacer from sliding around. Each tire is bolted (inside and outside has its own bolts).

I don't think you are going to get to 45 degrees with your setup, but who wants to....
