Update,
Went and checked the 3235 out. It has AG rear tires, mechanically the tractor and deck were sound. The rear end is not the newer cast iron one, but it is also not the first generation aluminum one either. Though the cast iron rear end is the more desireable, I could not find anything particularly bad about this one. As long as it wasn't the aluminum one I figured I was o.k. It will also mow in reverse. Not sure if it was like that originally, or the previous owner disabled that feature. No matter, it's nice to not have to fool around with it while operating the machine.
The body, though not pristine was in plenty good enough shape. Looks like the previous owner maybe left it outside more often than not, though I have a shelter for it. The left rear tail light was missing, gas was spilled on it which apparently shrinks the plastic and they fall out. Don't much care about lights, I'm a daylight mower anyhow. The arms of the seat are a little chewed, but I will be removing the arms they kind of get in my way. I am 6'2" tall and weigh around 210 and found it to be comfortable. The dealer serviced it and tossed in a new set of blades. So, I purchased it.
It's been raining off and on for the last few days and yesterday was no exception. However, I was able to try it out a little bit. Man, that thing can climb hills. Not sure what the actual grade is, but it's steep. My full sized Allis Chalmers CA used to get light in the front end and required some weights. This machine climbs with no lightness in the front end and I did not even have to engage the differential lock. I guess the dealer was right, as long as I can hang on it will go just about anywhere I aim it at. I was impresssed to say the least.
Sorry I don't have pictures.
Thanks for the input, I really appreciated it.
Mike
