So I've been looking for a new rotary mower for my DK45 SE and am leaning towards the Woods BB720X (also considering the Land Pride RCF2072 and the Bush Hog BH 16) but like the 3" cutting capacity of the Woods for my PTO HP. My only concern is the 1200lbs. of the implement. I'm cutting lots of heavy weeds, cedars and probably shale and live on a steep hill. Do you think this is too much for my tractor weight and power wise? I can always throw tons of rocks in the bucket to offset the weight. I appreciate any replies. Thank you.

Not familiar with your tractor but I run one on a 60hp and it handles it well. It is a great cutter and if your machine can do it you will not be sorry.

I bought the BH16 last year with slip clutch.Very heavy duty mower for the price.Runs great behind my DK40.I would be very careful mowing on a steep hill.I speak from experience my first Kioti DK40 tractor had loaded R4 tires on it I was mowing a steep hill and slid about 50 ft.to the bottom sideways.Talk about pucker factor.I went with the loaded R1 ag tires on my new tractor DK40 no problems since..

Yes, I'm a bit worried about the weight. I'm running loaded R4's and with the steep hill, I, too, am worried that I'll go down backwards and sideways. I've done it once already and the pucker factor is quite high. Tractor is 4wd, though, and I'm thinking that with a bit of weight in the FEL, it might work. I'm definitely liking the specs on that Woods BB720X and the extra weight on the back might also be nice for heavier FEL loads if it's not too long in the back.

I would think that the heavier the mower the better for lowering the center of gravity. It is those heavy bat wings that keeps the highway tractors mowing on the road slopes.
