Tractor Sizing looking for a 3 pt.backhoe (4690B) ? for a Kubota L4200

Anyone -help with looking for 3 pt backhoe (think the proper model is 4690B) any help on price, model, shape, location would be great.

Look for a frame mount, it will serve you better.

That's the right one from Kubota. It is a 3 point mount; subframe type is better, but one was not offered by Kubota for your tractor. The 4690's occasionally show up on Craigs', Ebay or at dealers; hit or miss, may take a while to find one. A new one probably went for $6-7k; used ones, it depends on condition.

Several other brands of good backhoes. Keep an eye out for Woods, Bradco, Bush Hog, Wallenstein. If 3point type, it may fit your tractor without much modification. If a subframe type, you'd need the correct subframe for your tractor... probably would have to order from the backhoe manufacturer.

If you do get a 3 point type, be sure to get a top-link reinforcing bracket for the tractor (should be available from Kubota or have one custom made). It strengthens the attachment point for the top link, which undergoes extreme stress with a 3 point backhoe. Protects tractor from damage, also a safety matter.

Don't know where you're located but there is a 4690 3pt selling at auction in Middlefield Ohio on Dec. 17. It looks like new in the picture. It can be viewed at kikoauctions.com.

Go for a frame mount no flex while in use and better for the tractor

I have a subframe-mounted Woods BH9000 on my L4200. My backhoe can throw my tractor around like so much tissue paper. Although the subframe mounts use the same 3pt attachment points, I would never get a 3pt hitch mount - I think it would get destroyed. For a smaller tractor with a 6' hoe, maybe, but a strong 9' hoe creates a ludicrous amount of force.

I have a 3 pt that I am selling with my L2900 GST, I would consider selling it seperately.

find out from your dealer if you need a 3 PT reinforcing bracket . I had to put one on my L2900 to prevent the trans and axle case from possably splitting open from the pressures the back hoe can imposeon it.
