Mowing Looking for a NH472 Haybine

Looking for a 7' mower / conditioner for my mixed clover and grass hay. Been getting by with a sickle bar mower and separate crusher, but looking to save some time and mow and crimp in one step.

Anybody close to me in Southern Indiana got one for sale - good condition and reasonable price?

Any advice on what to look for (and what to look out for)?

Mr. Brono, you might chech this dealer battafarmmachinery.com/ I am surprised the number of 7' mo/co they have. If you are making a clover grass mix, I would suggest a mower conditioner with one metal roller against a rubber roller. The rubber on rubber are directed towards an alfalfa crop which requires a gentler condition. The condition of the rubber will be a give-away to its use and life. Also the chains and sprockets, if equipped, will indicate use, care and life. We switched from a New Holland to a Hesston to get a stronger condition and gave us maybe a half day sooner drying. I am not personally familiar with this dealership, but surf their site occasionally. I in north central IN and the Amish still use a lot of 7' mo/co here with an engine cart and team of horses. They usually run them till they fall apart. I looked at one a year ago in this area, a 7' Hesston, in good shape and that dealer wanted $2500.oo then. Hopefully this helps and that dealership is easy to work with. Good luck halftrack
