Buying Advice Looking for a rotary cutter, any advice

I use an LX4 on my 2520. I thought of going to a 5 footer, but I mow between hundreds of evergreens. Cut for the first time this past weekend. Does a pretty fair job for a rotary. Drought last summer was hard on a new lawn. Taken at mntn house.

A 5' cutter is not much wider than the 2520. It will cover your tracks and cut closer to trees and fences. Also weights should do the trick if you don't have a loader. JC

Thanks for the advice guys! I think I am going to get a 5' cutter. Bigger is better. I only am going to mow tall grass and the ocassional light brush. Off to the dealership. I'll post some pics when I get it together

PK,

Weights are nice. I use 4' JD cutter on a 2210. Like some of the guys here I use the cutter primarily for mowing around seedlings. It's nice to have the loader off for better visibility, but you need still something up front so you can turn. Turning ability always seems to be the limiting factor for me with these tractors.

My dealer sold both and I actually use Aeirens weights. They were cheaper, and heavier. I think I was able to get six thirty five pounders up front with no modification.

In my case, the loader works OK, front weights work better!
