I am look at yanmar tractors and some others, but I cannot find a dealer near me, can anyone help me,
And if these dealers are any good???

Compact Tractors

Tractor Co.: Used Tractors & Implements by Yanmar, Kubota, Branson, John Deere, Mitsubishi, Mahindra, McCormick & Others For Sale.

And can some of you tell me the models to avoid.

I am planning on getting one with a front loader if that helps

And can anyone recommend other good dealers??

I'm familiar with the first one you listed, but neither one is very close to you. There is a good reputable dealer in SW Ohio, Click here

The second place you listed sells V.N. recons. Stay away from these tractors. Although, some have had luck with V.N. recons. It's best to leave them alone

Welcome agape woodworker,

The first is Stans Tractors in Texas, has a good reputation but factor in a lot of shipping.
As Kenmac said, the second sells Recons, stay away.

As Inspectorr507 said, Wayne at LMTC is a good dealer and quite a bit closer.

Good luck in your search.

"Powershift" is Yanmar's name for their gear transmission that is partly controlled by hydraulic clutches. In practical terms it means that you must use the clutch to change ranges, but you can shift from forward to reverse and from 1-2-3 without the clutch. The models that have powershift transmissions are so designated by the model number ending in "10" or "20," like "1510" and "2020." It is generally considered a "bullet proof" tranny. It is especially helpful and faster for those who have a FEL.

Thanks mjpetersen

From your other post. it looks like the engine was not hard to rebuild. Unlike these new tractors on the market.
I like things that are build to last and it seems that these little tractor are built tough.

My other question is how are they in cold weather starting that is??

The coldest it ever gotten here in Lancaster pa is about +5 f

I was reading some on that subject and some of the tractor have glow plug others have compression release. I know that the old lister peter engines have the compression release. Our Amish neighbor uses one to power his house and always starts in the winter
It takes several times to get it going.

I didn't have the slightest problem with my F20D this last winter and we got down well into the teens in the Ozarks. I used it to scrape my road after the snow. Mine has the glow plugs.
