Considering a WOODS brand backhoe for my L2501.

The bh80-x model to be specific.

I considered the factory offering but the subframe plates require a 4 point mounting that is so close to the rops, that it won't easily facilitate my tnt, or accessory hydraulics. The seat is squarely between the tops as well.

The WOODS offering looks like it allows more room for the 3 point and tnt, as well as seating well rearward of the rops.

Anyone confirm these points?

General feedback?

Thanks.

Woods makes some great backhoes. They are well thought out, and built to last.

I can't say how it will fit on your tractor, but I bought a Woods 7500 backhoe from a rental yard that was set up for 3 Pt hitch mount. I had it converted to a subframe mount and got the Woods 4 point quick attach subframe mount for my tractor. It's a great set up. the subframe stays on the tractor. I can get the backhoe on in a few minutes (my record is 7 minutes, when I was taking it on an off on a regular basis). I do have to remove the toplink from my 3 pt hitch, since the backhoe seat occupies that space. I don't have to remove the lower 3 pt arms, but I do need to disconnect the stabilizers from them when the backhoe is mounted (does not require any tools on my tractor).

As a bonus, the subframe made a handy place to mount the belly pan I added to protect the underside while working in the woods.

I've a BH70X w/subframe for my B7610. Don't get to use it enough, but love it when I can. Makes me feel like a kid in a sandbox.
Main reason I got it versus the Kubota offering for the B7610 was I wanted to be able to dig a hole deep enough that I couldn't see out.

You will probably be removing your 3 pt linkage for either the BH77 or the BH80-X. The Woods subframe May preclude you from using stabilizers on your 3point lift links. Kubota offers a different bracket and hose extensions to relocate the remote hydraulic couplers to the outside of the ROPS. Pretty good chance that will need to happen whichever hoe you choose. I owned a BH80-X three point mount. It was an awesome hoe. The BH77 is specifically designed for your tractor. It will fit and work as well as anything you can buy.

Having less interference issues between the subframe assembly and backhoe is exactly why I'm looking at the Woods model.

I don't want to sit directly between the rops, remove the placard bar that's in that area, or relocate my remotes and solenoid valve stack.

I get why Kubota made it so compact and close, but some people need more room for mods in that area.

I have a BH-80X on my B3030.

Yes, the 3-pt lift arms need to be removed. Thankfully, it can be done in about 2 minutes with no tools.

Not sure what the "stabilizers" are. On my B3030 there are links on both sides of the lower arms that prevent horizontal movement . They DO need to be either removed, or just folded up and kept in position with a bungee cord or some-such (my choice).
