We are relocating back to Minnesota from Tennessee and renting a house on 40+ acres with about 2+ acres to mow...

I'm looking for either a JD or Cub mower, with 46"+ deck. I prefer one of the older models (durability) and am looking for suggestions on how far back to go. I don't need something that 'looks' nice, but performs well. There are a number of models of each that offer Snowblower implements... I have a fairly long driveway, and think the snowblower may be more of a hassle than just hiring someone to make a couple of passes with a blade on the front end of their truck. If someone has used blade attachment on the front with success, that would be good to hear about.

Thanks - I look forward to years of great exchanges on this site!!!

Suggest posting your search in the Lawn & Garden forum for good response (better than the new member intro).

Hope you enjoy MN.

My best recommendation for a solid lawn tractor based on my experience would be a 425, 445, or 455 Deere and I prefer the all wheel steer with a 54" deck. Solid units and will hold their value if you decide to make a change. Something with 400 - 1000 hours depending on condition.
