hi folks - ask first / search afterwards :)

I have driven tractors and excavators my whole life but have never used a plow on the end of my front end loader (instead of bucket) until today so.... am looking for operating tips - have plowed with trucks (and a side by side) for years.

Looking for advice on vertical "plow angle" (bucket angle) / use of float / etc... obviously I am going to experiment but would love to know what other folks think.
My Titan 8' plow is on the end of my Kubota M series (50hp) FEL; hydraulic angle via remotes; plow of course has trip springs.

thanks

Depending on how much snow you usually get, plan where you are going to put it. Nothing worse than running out of room to put the snow you didn't plan on.

Does the plow have provisions for floating it independently of the lift arms? That works best for me for nearly all the plowing. If there's some stubborn mashed-down snow or something that I want to back drag I add the weight of the loader arms (and float them). For anything real serious I can use the weight of the tractor itself to press down.

You want the entire bottom edge of the blade to contact the surface being plowed regardless of how the blade is rotated. For most plows, this means the frame that connects the blade to the tractor needs to be parallel with the ground. Otherwise one end of the blade will want to dig in.

That plow as most "factory built" has no float, much harder to plow gravel/uneven surfaces than a plow that has chain float. All truck snow plows have chain float. If it has skid plates they will help carrying the weight of the plow.
