Has anyone test driven both Mahindra 3510, 4110 or 4510 as well as a TYM T400, T450 or T451? If so I would appreciate your feedback. I have been told the TYM tractor with the Kubota engine is much smoother (less vibration) and quieter than the Mahindra's with the Dadong/Kioti engine in them. Any comments would be appreciated.

Told by whom, the Kubota salesman? :) I haven't driven those models but I have compared the Kubota 7510 to the Kioti CK20 and they were for all practical purposes identical with regard to engine noise/vibration.

No, it was told to me by a Mahidra dealer who sells TYM as well and serperately one of his customers who bought the a 400 instead of the 4110 becuase of that.

I have test drove the mahindra 4110. I thought it was a great tractor. ran smooth. I believe it had a mitsubishi engine.

I am happy with my 4110 for the most part and I believe that it also has a mitsubishi engine. I'm headed to the farm in a few and am definitely going to check.

Has Mahindra changed who's engine they spec in the 4110? I thought it was a Daedong.

Mine is, in fact, a Daedong, I don't know why I was thinking it was a Mitsubishi.

MLinOleMiss,
Did you use Dixie in Laurel for your tractor, or is there a dealer in Collins? I've bought implements from them and they seem to be good guys. I was wondering about their service.

Chipperman wrote that TYM uses Kubota, Mahindra uses Daedong.

But I believe the confusing comes in due to the fact that different size machines are (or were) built by different manufacturers for Mahindra.

I'm pretty sure some of the models of Mahindra still use Mitsu engines, and some use Daedong engines. I've been pretty impressed with the Mahindras and tested 2 of them, I don't think they are as smooth as the Kubota engine, but then I don't think New Holland's (Shiburu) or Deere's (Yanmar) engines sound as smooth at Kubota engines either. Then again, I'm not sure that the engine sound/smoothness (unless it just sounded bad or rattled the fillings out of my teeth) would be a major factor in which tractor I picked, as long as the engine had a good reputation for reliablity.

I figured you would show up here sooner or later. Good to hear from you. In regard to Mahindra any of the models that use Mitsu engines are completely built by Mitsu. (the whole tractor) I tend to disagree with you on a couple of your points. As I do feel the Kubota engine is very smooth and I cannot speak for the Shibura engines. I can speak for for some of the Yanmar engines and some of their engines are just as smooth. By the way Deere is now using more and more of the engines they build in Mexico instead of Yanmar in their compacts. I believe you will see the Yanmar/Deere collaboration end in the foreseeable future. The other point is it may not be much of a factor in your choice of a tractor but the average "compact" tractor buyer is more concerned with first impressions than you or say a farmer might be. Since most "compact" tractor buyers have little to no experience with tractors. I do not mean that to be derogatory in any way to compact buyers. Just like many points you make it is a basic fact. Therefore, better first impressions combined with a quality product (and now the best warranty in the industry) should equal growing market share. But I guess we will have to wait until next year to see who is right on that one.

What Mahindra models did you like? I think you will be surprised with what you will see from TYM in the not to distant future. Hope all else is well.
