looking for pointers for a small massey GC 2310

Hello,
New to the tractor world. I inherited this GC 2310 that sat for a while. Just looking for some advice to keep it up and running. I just replaced the starter switch because the old one was fouled up. Looking to get a real repair manual above and beyond the owners manual.

You can order operator and service manuals through AGCO for the tractor. Considering it has sat for a while, change the engine oil/filter and check air filter. Check the hydraulic oil, if it is clear and clean I would leave it alone provided you are certain it has been changed at least once after the initial break-in. Check the coolant and then just let it sit and run for a while to get some fuel run through it and then change the fuel filter. If you have any indication the fuel has gelled at some point while sitting, drain the old fuel from the tank/lines, change the filter and fill with fresh fuel prior to running it.

Like he said ^. One little quirk is that the foot control for forward and reverse can stick. Be ready to react to this until you get it looked after. I don't know if this was a problem for the entire build or just early ones. You don't want to run over a flower bed or some ones foot. Great little tractor otherwise. Mines an 07 with 500+ hours and it runs great. Even original battery. They do resist starting when cold. A block heater or warm garage wouldn't hurt in the winter months.

These are very durable, versatile and surprisingly strong little machines; you're going to like it.

Get a grease gun and lubricate every grease zerk you can find. Pivot points for loader and backhoe, and foot control.
Check rubber boots on front axle for tearing.
Check the muffler for any cracking on the connection from the resonator to the exhaust pipe (it can be re-welded rather than replacing).
Check underneath to any damage to the cooling fan.
Check sight glass by rear PTO shaft for hydraulic oil level, run for a for bit then check the oil level again. Fluid should remain clear. If it's looking dirty after running, the oil has water contamination.

Hand wash it, you'll be surprised how much more you notice about the tractor's condition, and where everything is.
Any excessive water sprayed on to the light switch may start the 4 way flashers blinking. Only way to stop it is to dry/blow out the switch, or disconnect the battery.
