Spreader Looking for recommendations for a broadcast spreader for my JD3520 cab tractor

Hi all,

First time post to TBN. If this is the wrong sub-forum for this question please move the post as required and spank me!

I've got a John Deere 3520 cab tractor. SWMBO has requested a PTO driven broadcast spreader for Springtime. This will be primarily used to put down granular insecticides of one type or another, but might also be used for sand in the winter.

I'd like something big enough to cover a couple of acres at a whack before refilling. I'm thinking a 250 lb hopper ought to do it for insecticide, but more might be nicer for spreading sand.

The biggest issue is I need to be able to control the material feed (on/off) from the cab. I'm assuming this means an electric solenoid control of some sort? I've got plenty of empty switch positions on the console. I've got a third hydraulic circuit (think grapple bucket) but no power-beyond kit.

What do you all recommend?

A Vicon Pendulum spreader is what you want for this work.
I am not sure if the smallest one is available with electric controls
but the Kubota dealer that sells them will know whether it does or not.
The hoppers are made from fiberglass or thick injection molded plastic and do not rust out.

The Vicon pendulum spreader will not waste the powdered insecticide and not overspread it
as the amount of pendulum swing for the delivery tube is infinitely adjustable and they offer
spatter plates to prevent casting the material too far to the left or right.

Thank you, Leon. The catalog says you can get a hydraulic gate or the electronic controls for the small one.

I have a 3520 and bought a Faza spreader which I believe are made in Italy
very good quality.
I also wanted control from the cab but all these spreaders have leaver which you have to reach back to operate.
I had to get creative and build my own control which is operated with a switch in the cab. I used a lineal actuator(inexpensive)
and 2 micro switches to control open and closed positions.
Works very well
