looking in N.Y.

Hi all, I've been looking around, but can't find any dealers for Yanmars, or ANY grey tractors in my area! I live in upstate N.Y. near Saratoga Springs. Does anyone know of any dealers even remotely near me? Thank you for your help, Mike

I don't know of any in N.Y. but you may be able to have one delivered by one of the dealers that participate on this forum. I would suggest contacting LMTC (Little Miami Trading Co) or Hoye Tractor. They will deliver but I don't know for sure how far north they go.

Their tractors and reputation make for a "Worry Free" and reasonable transaction. Good luck with the hunt!

I'm sure most on this forum and even the general grey market forum will confirm for you that of all the grey market tractors, the yanmar has the best aftermarket parts support by light years. We avoid the models for which parts support is poor (though certain parts of the market still deal in them). If you ask on this forum there are many owners who can give you their specific experiences with specific models. As with anything, the condition of the tractor when you buy it is probably the biggest factor in how well it will serve you.

We're one of the few dealers I know of who can tell you that all our units are load tested on a dynamometer, with block and radiator temps read with an infra-red temp gun; this helps us avoid the latent overheating problems that plague certain portions of the market (a lengthy thread on here recently attests to how often plugged radiators are missed). It can't predict whether a head gasket might fail, or a hose blow, but for us it has virtually eliminated bad radiators as a source of heating problems.

vallyfarm, yanmars occassionally turn up in the used lots of brick-n-mortar farm equipment places. you just have to constantly be searching the used lots...

i bought my 169d from a dealer (earthworm equipment) just north of Albany about 2 yrs ago. You might want to contact your local dealers and put in request to be contacted if a yanmar is to show up at their place..

otherwise, like Mark777 suggested, buying from an outfit such as LMTC is another fantastic alternative.. good luck.
