Tractor
looking to buy
Good evening, first time tractor buyer here, Am leaning towards kioti Nx 4510 or Ls 4145. Would appreciate some info on Yanmar. Which tractor is comparable to these 45 hp tractors. What are some positives of Yanmar. Thanks for any input guys.

In my opinion Korean Kioti brand tractors, Korean LS brand tractors and Japanese Yanmar tractors are about equal in quality. I would use dealer proximity as a tie breaker in choosing between tractors within these brands.

The best way to determine tractor capability is to research bare tractor weight. If you compare a 4,000 pound bare weight Kioti to a 4,000 pound bare weight Yanmar you will be comparing tractors essentially equal in capability.

Bare tractor weight is prominent in tractor brochures and tractor producer's web sites.

When shopping for a new tractor prioritize bare tractor weight, tractor horsepower second and tractor rear ballast third.

A quality dealer, reasonably close, available for coaching, is important for tractor neophytes. Most new tractors are delivered with a glitch or two requiring correction. My Kubota dealer is six miles away. I feel my local dealer continues to add value to my equipment after seven years. Dealer proximity is less important for those experienced with tractors and qualified to perform their own maintenance.

I was ready to buy a Yanmar YT359 but couldn’t get the dealer down below my pain point on price. The YT347 is the closest in hp to the units you specified.

The iHMT transmission on the YT 359 might be the nicest and best thought out tractor transmission yet. The Yanmar also come well optioned and are very ergo friendly.

That all being said, I bought an LS XR4155HC with 3rd function, top/tilt and filled tires for about 7k less than the best price I could get on the YT359.

Very happy with my LS purchase

The yt347 would be the correct Yanmar Tractor. The ihm transmission is a thing of a beauty and makes the tractor amazing versatile.

Yanmar invented the first practical small Diesel engine and have been a quality diesel manufacturer in Japan for over 100 years. Compact tractors are one of their smaller segments. They’re especially big players in the marine diesel and construction segments. You see a lot of other tractor brands buying their engines from Yanmar, John Deere in particular.

Never used their tractors, but rented a mini-ex of theirs for a month. I put it through some tough work making trails on my property and climbing hills that required the bucket to pull me up ...

Never hesitated, never had a single issue and it started right up instantly every time... Really changed my mind about some of the foreign stuff and partly why I'm willing to try out Mahindra for a tractor.

Good luck with your purchase.

I was looking at the same models:nx4510 LS 4145, Yanmar and also JD.
When I was comparing, the LS loader did not have the reach I wanted. The Kioti did not have the ground clearance for the woods work I do. The JD was just too expensive. Bought a YT359. When I got it, the 359 was only $1500 more than the 347.

Been very happy with it. Very easy to operate and plenty of power. Now the Yanmar tractors have a 10 year power train warranty.
I do agree that dealer support is key.

RAYBENDER,

I am in the verge to get the same one you have. Any big issues or recommendation you have for me. I have the opportunity to get a leftover 2018 359 Cab for 35250.00 Do you think is a decent price?

Thanks

That does seem like a good price for a 359 with a Cab if it includes the loader. The only thing I would recommend is discussing with the dealer whether this particular tractor would be covered by the 10 year warranty Yanmar now offers. If it is eligible, it would be another reason to get it.

I have had very good experience with my 359. It has been remarkably productive. Every experienced tractor operator who has either used it or watched it being used is interested/impressed by the transmission and A/B mode operation. I remain impressed by many of the details of the overall design.

Raybender,

Thank you so much, the answer is yes is covered by the new warranty. I believe when they changed to the 10 years some of the prior sales were also covered.
I imagine the maintenance is not that bad, seem like all is so simple not sure if is tricking me. The dealer is offering me the 359 Open for 29250.00. I may have some change to buy more implements. What would you do?

Thank you so much for your time.
