Looking to bid on Shave post driver, but is the valve okay?

Hi everyone - I have come to the realization that I would like to get a used post driver for my Kubota L2501 tractor. Since I will mostly be driving 5 posts, I think an older Shaver HD-8 will do the job. I live in the Denver area and lost out on one at auction a week ago, but see one at auction in Wyoming next week. From the pictures it looks like the valve might be damaged beyond repair, your opinions? If it is damaged any thoughts on an aftermarket valve or should I contact Shaver directly?
