Looking to buy a dolmar

   / Looking to buy a dolmar #11
So far I have found it easier to get parts for the dolmars that I own than for the stihls! Not that I have needed much, but when needed the stihl dealer did not have it, it takes them a month to get it and then you get raped. Was able to get the few parts I needed for the dolmar on line if the dealer did not have them.

For me the best support is for stihl and husqvarna, our local saw shop sells parts for almost any stihl and husqvarna, stihl is by far the most used saw on the planet and parts are very easy to find, my big saw is a ms 460 woods ported and 4 others I run mostly for firewood. One of the best saws I still have was a shindawa 695 pro, but I can't find parts for the pickup tube assembly and still a strong running saw that has cut hundreds of cords.

It is really sketchy who actually invented the first chainsaw.

I guess it is all how you define "chainsaw".

Gas powered? Electric? Mechanical?

But who really cares anyway. Dolmar has been around a long time.

As what others have said, dolmar doesnt have the best dealer network. But if you have one in your area, they are a great saw. Best for the money IMO. Stihl, Husky, Echo, and others make great saws too. But dollar for dollar, Dolmar has them all beat IMO.

That said, If the 510 is the size you are looking for, I encourage you to take a good look at the 5105. Similar size, but lighter and more power for a little more $$$.

Let us know what you decide:thumbsup:
