Looking to buy a Farmtrac

Looking to by a tractor and ran upon a 2002 Farmtrac 60 for about $5000, is that about right? Not familiar with them they just look to be built similar to a ford. It has about 600 hrs so it still looks real nice. Thanks.

I have a 555 that is just a newer 60. Had a few rear end issues, but I think I got a bad break. It has served us pretty well so I can say I am pretty happy with it.

mine problems been in wire but think that was caused by someone else and netural safety switch but I bypassed that

Not sure what options you are referring to, as long as it has remote hydraulics to operate my wood splitter . I just didn't think 600 hrs was a lot and should last a long time.

Parts are easily had. There are several online sources. Diamondr, on this site, ITP Agri and Sundowner. When I had a bolt let go in my rear end I had all my parts to fix within 2 weeks, some straight from the factory in India. Do not let parts availability deter you in the least.

There is a place in tyler tx called cocker equipment that had what I have needed.

I have the first year FT60 that has 2080 hours.

Like the Ford 3610 its a tough old tractor with dated ergonomics such as the operator sits astraddle of the tranny/lift lever in down by the right foot/the 3 cylinder Ford diesel is loud enough to kill brain cells.

I've had a new starter relay at around 1200 hours.
New water pump at 1400 hours.
Just had the alternator rebuilt about 3 months ago.

My Farmtrac dealer sold Longs for years so he has no problems ordering parts. He had the relay and water pump in stock. LOL.... they had Ford part numbers.

For 5k its well worth it if in reasonable shape.
