Hi all,
I went to a local MF dealer this morning looking for a new GC2410. He told be that the GC2000 series are discontinued from MF and that the 1700 series are their replacements. I've looked around a bit online and I haven't seen anything about it. Is he just yanking my chain because he didn't have any in stock or is this true?

Secondly, when I started talking pricing he said the price was dependent on if I was financing through MF or not. Now I've never bought a tractor in my like but I've bought a lot of big ticket items like cars, boats, atv's motorcycles and this is the first time I've heard this one.

Is this dealer on the up and up or is he just s jerk bag?

FYI, I'm in southern NY

thanks all!!

Nope, He's telling the truth about the models. You would be hard pressed to find any of the 2410 or 2610 machines on a lot that aren't used. Also truthful about the financing. ATV's and boats may be different, but with cars, tractors, trucks, there is almost always a cash rebate if you don't take the low rate financing. Banks make money on loans, if the rate is 0% someone paid to get it there. The difference between 0% and whatever going rate is, say 4.5%, that's usually what your cash discount will be.

I found the same when I was looking at Massey, which finances through AGCO.

However, I asked the Deere dealer about this and he said in their store's case, they do the same price regardless of cash or finance. He said it is because they do such high volume that Deere lets them do it that way.

So it depends. If you are working with a high volume dealer or a manufacturer that wants to sell a lot of product, they might do the 0% regardless. But generally there is a premium involved.

thanks guys. I didn't realize he was talking about either the 0% financing OR a $1500 rebate.
He was able to find me a GC2610 with 3 point hitch and 12" bucket for $17,800 with 3.9% financing for up to 72 months.
Does that sound like a decent deal for New York? I've seen a few other do a little bit better but not by much.
I may try to get him to throw in some turf tires as well.
Thanks again

The JD tractors have this factored into the price. MF will sell lower for cash.

The way I had that explained to me is that it wasn't factored into the price, at least with the dealer I bought from.

The store manager said that because they do such volume (6 stores and basically a monopoly in this area and they sold probably 85-100 b1-Series tractors in the spring between just two stores) they can sell that way. They also do 72 month financing where Deere offers 60 months nationally.

Now when you finance, Deere does get you on the insurance for the loan, but that's only $250 anyway.
